This is an ongoing B&W portrait project; I aim to take elevated editorial-style portraiture. I have long admired and have been very influenced by the masterful work of Yousaf Karsh, Irving Penn, and Richard Avedon, to name a few. Their sense of lighting and the ability to truly capture the human spirit within a single image has always left me in awe. I work with some parameters with my subjects to achieve well-lit and well-conceived portraits. I also let my subject lead and observe within the viewfinder.

Most of the subjects are people I know, but I may approach you with my business card and request to take your portrait. Please, I'm not crazy; I genuinely want to take a photo of you. The whole process takes no longer than 20 minutes.
